Itinerary:
Backcountry overnight. We'll be backpacking in to the crystal waters of Carnavon Lake nestled in a stark, rockbound basin that is guarded by a steep headwall. Reaching the lake the hiker is rewarded immediately with brilliant blue waters cupped in a dramatically stark basin. This trip will involve a river and creek crossings (wet feet), climbing up a headwall with chains (bring gloves), mountains, a lake with fish, beautiful views. We'll be camping on the upper meadow above the lake.

Distance: 10km one way. 780m elevation gain including approx. 20m of chain.
- Expect about 4 hours to hike in give or take
- We'll do lunch at a nearby town on Sunday

Note:
- This is a fun anything really goes event
- This is a random camping event. No facilities.
- You'll need a bear canister or Ursack

- Water crossing shoes if needed

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $78.40 (calculated at total Km * $0.32, effective Thursday, January 23, 2025). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
