Itinerary: | |||||||
We will begin at the southeastern edge of
Edworthy Park
and
take The
Douglas Fir Trail along the escarpment then
pick up
Quarry
Trail eastward towards Crowchild Trail. At the
end of
Quarry
Trail we will turn around and come back the way
we
came. The Douglas Fir Trail is located in the eastern portion of Edworthy Park and is one of the most easterly stands of Douglas Fir in Canada. Undulating along an escarpment created by an ancient and much mightier Bow River, this natural area is just minutes from downtown. The Douglas Fir Trail is a reasonably short but strenuous hike up and down a series of steps and walkways placed between the bases of beautiful, towering fir trees. Distance: 7.2 km. NOTE THAT THIS IS A BRISK HIKE WITH LOTS OF STAIRS. COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS:
Participation in this event is conditional upon
attendee compliance with government
restrictions currently in place. If you have
COVID-19, or
may have COVID-19 due to a recent exposure, you
are expected to withdraw from this event and
stay
home. We will be more than happy to see you at
another event once it is considered safe for
you
to do so! Failure to comply with these
protocols may result in removal from this event
and/or
future events.
