Can we beat the weather?
Once again the weathermen seem pessimistic but last weekend we had beautiful weather, despite their assertions of rain. The forecast seems to vary depending on which source you look at but the morning seems good at least.
We'll start earlier and finish hopefully before the weather turns.

There will be an element of exploration. A couple weeks ago we found a new trail out of Sibbald Flats. I believe we found the Tom Snow end of the new Kestrel Trail. This weekend we'll see if we can find the other end.
We'll start up Snowshoe and over to Bragging Rights, to get us onto Merlin View. Around the far end of Merlin View we will see if we find the start of Kestrel. We'll explore Kestrel as an out and back, before returning to Merlin View, then back to the cars.
We will ride as a loose group and regroup to stay together as needed.

This will be a slower paced event because I'm a slacker. By waiting for people to keep up, even though there are some hills on this route, we will make it a pace suitable for novices. I'd say you have to be as fit as me but that's not saying much because I push my bike up hills too.
Distance and elevation are unknown with the exploration of Kestrel but likely 15-20km and with the ups and downs elevation may be 500m or more. This makes it suitable for in shape beginners or slacker intermediates like myself.
Feel free to contact me with questions.
