The trail winds and switchbacks upwards through forests and leads us to panoramic views of the prairies/foothills and surrounding peaks.

ELEVATION: Please note: If you have not hiked before with a lot of elevation, it is highly recommended that you start with a hike with less elevation. Always remember to hike within your own ability.

We will be travelling at a steady pace with stops; please note speedy hikers must be prepared to slow down and stay with the group.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Drive west on Hwy 1 from Calgary and take the Sibbald Creek Trail (Hwy 68) turnoff. At the Powderface Trail junction turn left and drive south to the Dawson camping area and trailhead for approximately 3 kms. Park here. The trailhead is at the east end of the parking area.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $36.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.30, effective Wednesday, April 17, 2024). This is based on $0.16/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Alternately your carpool driver may choose to split the maintenance cost plus the actual gas cost among all in the vehicle. Your carpool driver will confirm exactly how much money they require to cover costs. Please split the actual cost among all people in the vehicle.
