Disc Golf #61

Disc Golf is played much like regular golf, but instead of trying to hit a ball into a hole, players attempt to get discs into a basket in the least amount of throws. Similar to clubs in ball golf, there are different discs for each shot. There are hundreds of discs available on the market which generally fall into three categories: drivers; midranges and putters. It is recommended that you have one of each to start although one could get away with just a midrange (such as a 'Buzz') in the beginning. Frisbees are usually not suitable as they do not fly far enough but they'll suffice if you just want to give the game a try or you can always borrow a disc from someone in the group.

Lloyd Park
is an 18 hole course featuring new baskets and tee signage (as of 2017) with a mountain view in a nice rural setting away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Due to its location and the fact it's a pay course, Lloyd Park tends to provide a much more relaxing atmosphere than courses in Calgary. Holes range from 210 to 705 feet but unlike Baker Park, the majority are on the longer side and the grass is only maintained on the fairways so spring and fall tend to be best times to play here.

Park closes at 8:00pm in the summer
