Hike Description:
It looks like a large resting moose but feels like a small roller coaster! That's Moose Mountain, the most easterly Rocky Mountain near Calgary. If you want to see for yourself how it resembles a moose, you will need to go for a car drive along Highway 1 from Springbank to Jumpingpound and pick it out in the panorama but if your preference is to go on a small roller coaster ride then come along with me for a hike to the summit of Moose Mountain. The trail consists of a fire road, sections through trees, wide- open meadow, switchbacks and slopes and a narrow rocky ridge just before the lookout.

warm layers for our time at the Lookout (jacket, hat, mitts)
