Itinerary:
Distance: approx 10km
Elevation gain: 450m

Note: This event is designated a D5 due to the challenging nature of being off trail, route navigation, rapid elevation gain and deep snow. This event requires a strong fitness level and intermediate to strong snowshoe skills. A 10km, 450m snowshoe is more challenging than a summer hike of the same size.

We'll warm up by climbing the sloop under the power lines until we reach our off trail starting point at the top of the first hill. There we'll move to an unofficial snowshoe trail off to the right and go directly up Blueberry Hill. Since it's an unofficial trail, some (call it lots) of exploration and route navigation will be required.

Once we reach the top of Blueberry Hill we'll have a tremendous view of Mount Fox to the south, the Elk Range to the east, and the Kananaskis Lakes to the north. We'll return the way we came up.
