Write Up:The forecast for today called for a 10% chance of precipitation and
sunny skies. Dark clouds rolled in twice and tried to rain, but never
did. We took 4 1/2 hours to make our way around this loop with lots of
time for lunch and to stop and look at the flowers, of which a couple of
varieties are showing. The rolling terrain was dry despite the last few
days of rain, with only a couple of slightly muddy spots which were
easily hiked around. Despite it being a great day and popular spot for a
shoulder-season hike, we met only one other group at the far end, and a
couple of bikers. An excellent end to the week, or start of the weekend,
depending on your perspective.
