Write Up:What a feast we were offered today as we hiked, scrambled and lazed around Heather Ridge
and her surroundings. Again this Saturday we arrived at 8:15am at our trailhead parking lot to
only one spot left, we grabbed that one and created another one down on the road side. We
made quick time to the Halfway Hut where we took a few moments before aiming for Boulder
Pass, Ptarmigan Lake and then our main destination of Heather Ridge. We took a more direct
way up which was an easy scramble through a rock/scree/boulder field. It was not what I had
expected our ascent to consist off. We worked together route finding and safely arrived at the
top. The views were spectacular from the Ridge, the weather was ideal with some wind and no
bugs. We found an easier way to descend and then meandered through the meadows and
around Ptarmigan Lake. The wildflowers put on a prime showing. We lazed by the Lake for
awhile, took in some last views then made good time down the long and winding road back to
our vehicles. Thank you for joining in on making this a fun day in our mountain playground.
