Write Up:We are not sure what words other than incredible, amazing, beautiful, breathtaking could
describe our adventure into the Giant Steps, Horseshoe Lake, Paradise Valley and Lake Annette
today. It was just one of those days, you know, one of those days! We arrived at the Paradise
Valley Trail Head Parking Lot at 8:15am only to see all the spots were already taken so we
needed to create one. The distance and elevation planned for the day were exceeded when all
was said and done so the COC Rating was upgraded to a D7. With a joint effort by everyone, we
were able to find our way to the “Horseshoe Lake” with sits at the base of Horseshoe Glacier.
We were in awe of the beauty. We invested a significant amount of time here as it was deserving
of that. The scenery was incredible and the weather was perfect. We owned it outright and
commented that Moraine Lake and Lake Louise were probably packed and here we were in the
middle all on our own. Putting our route finding skills to the test, we were successful in making
a loop and finding our way back to the Giant Steps. This place truly is paradise! Thank you
